Fire Up Firefox!

If your Firefox Internet browser is taking too long to open, it may be due to the automatic updates. By default, when the browser is opened, it is set to automatically check for updates to Firefox, installed add-ons, and search engines. If you are an avid Internet user, this slow start up could quickly become annoying and even painful. This is one way how you can speed Firefox up:
- Open the FireFox browser
- Select Tools on the top menu
- Select Options…
- Select Advanced
- Select the Update tab
- Under the top section, Automatically check for updates to, uncheck Firefox, Installed Add-ons and Search Engines
Now you can periodically run manual update checks, but when you’re ready. To do this, you would:
- Repeat the above steps 1 – 3
- Select Main
- Find the Add-ons section, the third section down
- Select the Manage Add-ons… button
- Select the Find Updates button on the bottom left
See how that works for you. Enjoy!
